Following our amazing Mock Weightlifting Meet yesterday, experiencing your own performance, and witnessing a wide array of abilities some of you may be wondering: what does it take? What does it take for you to grow to YOUR next level?

Well, it takes a few measurable things, to be sure:

  1. Regular, Deliberate Practice – Unfortunately, with CrossFit and Weightlifting the same, after a brief honeymoon beginner’s phase, it’s not enough to show up and do “stuff.” Sweating and straining and cheering and high-fiving count for something. But we must ultimately do smart work. When you come to the gym and follow our programs, we see to it.
  2. Coach-ability – Just when you think you know it all, congratulations, you’re a freshman again.
  3. The Will To Prepare To Win – Did you eat protein at breakfast today? Spend 2 minutes on your weakest mobility link? 30 Overhead Squats with a broomstick at home? Why not? What’s going to be different this time? Start today.
  4. A Mentor/Coach – Preferably one that has walked the walk. We like to toot our own horns for sure, but also our own struggles and experiences have proven it to be true over and over: everyone needs a coach to reach their true potential. Or even to just break out of a funk.
