At Cypher Health & Fitness, our mission is to empower you to reach your fitness goals with personalized support and innovative programs. You can find Cypher Health & Fitness on Marina Way South, Suite 290 – across the street from Bubbaloo Cafe, and nearby Lucretia Edwards Park in Richmond, CA. We are one block over from the San Francisco Ferry Terminal and Rosie the Riveter Museum. We are located just off of highway 580, and within walking/biking distance for those who live in Marina Bay or in Point Richmond!
Our coaches strive to meet you exactly where you are – without judgement or criticism. We love supporting beginners and ensuring you get started on the right foot. We believe that everything is ‘scalable’ meaning that we can modify any movement to make sure it is accessible to you at your current level of fitness and comfort level.
Getting started at Cypher can look a bit different for everyone based on your individual goals, preferences and training background. Most of our members begin with comprehensive packages which include Personal Training, Group Classes and Nutrition Coaching. After your initial 3 months, ongoing memberships vary as well, starting at $210. We do not lock you into any long-term contracts, and your membership can evolve and adjust based on your current goals and needs.
Nutrition is the foundation of health and fitness. At Cypher, we partner with Healthy Steps Nutrition to provide you with a habit-based holistic approach addressing nutrition, mindset, sleep, stress management, your support system, lifestyle and daily movement.
This program – backed by a team of Registered Dietitians – is based on three core principles:
Eat whole foods first.
Strive for a balance of macronutrients at every meal and snack.
Limit ultra-processed carbohydrates, added sugar, and alcohol.
You and your coach will work together to build healthy habits into your day-to-day life, building upon each one throughout your journey. Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain muscle, avoid chronic disease, or just plain feel better, our nutrition coaches can help you navigate your best next step. And in addition to providing education around nutrition, we will also hold you accountable – often the missing piece when looking to make a change!
We want it all! We believe in a well-rounded level of fitness, meaning that we want you to be physically proficient across multiple types of training methods. We want you to be your strongest self and be able to lift weights, but we also want to make sure you’re mobile enough to touch your toes! We build athletes who are able to run, and who are also able to perform pull-ups and push ups.
Most training sessions will incorporate traditional strength training, metabolic conditioning and mobility work.
Everything at Cypher is coached and guided, meaning that you are always working at a level that is appropriate for you. Your membership isn’t just to access equipment, it’s access to guidance and accountability. Whether you are in a group class, a one-on-one training session, or working with a nutrition coach, we always want to meet you exactly where you currently are and encourage you to make incremental adjustments.
Sure, you can download any fitness program or nutrition plan online. However, knowing which plan is best for you and your goals takes experience. It’s hard to know if you’ve done enough or even done too much. Beyond that, you may already have the knowledge about what actions you need to take to be the healthiest version of yourself – but you may not be taking action toward those habits. That is where a coach can make all the difference.
A coach isn’t someone just shaking their fist at you, yelling “work harder.” In fact, we don’t believe in that at all. A coach is a guide – an expert – steering you on a journey toward better health. Someone who believes in you even when you’re unsure. A coach encourages you, while also mapping out specific sustainable actions that you can incorporate into your REAL life. A coach has the knowledge to modify a movement or session based on what you need on that particular day. It can be difficult to do all of that on your own – and you don’t have to! We’re here to help, and we are so excited to get started.
